Welcome to Black Swan Taekwondo Inc.
Black Swan Taekwondo Inc was incorporated in late 2006 in order to promote develop, encourage, advance and standardise the art of Taekwondo in the state of Western Australia.
We intend to conduct various activities and seminars as well as provide advice and direction to those groups who wish to advance and develop their knowledge of Taekwondo. While some of our focus is on the elite athlete, there is no doubt that the majority of Taekwondo practitioners are students who would like help with their patterns and to learn more about the art of Taekwondo, this is where we will concentrate our efforts.
Our vision is to bring various different Taekwondo groups together and gain strength by combining the skills of their members and giving them a say in how the association should be run. All members are entitled to attend our annual general meetings and have their say as well as being able to vote. Many groups outside the current state body have no access to funding or the ability to keep up to date. We will be the association through which they can join to keep up to date and access funding.
Our membership is open to all, in fact you don’t even have to be practicing Taekwondo to take part. You may be a parent or any interested person who wishes to contribute. This is evident in our constitution where we are looking for people with business and administrative skills to participate in the running of the executive. This will ensure that Black Swan Taekwondo Inc. will be run as a professional association.
Western Australia covers a massive area and country clubs are often left behind because of the large distances and expensive travel costs involved. By becoming a member of Black Swan Taekwondo Inc. they will be able to apply for funding for a large range of activities which will strengthen and develop Taekwondo in their region thereby making Taekwondo stronger.
Our intention is to have a different, more inclusive approach to develop Taekwondo in this State. It is our belief that with this type of approach we can include many groups which are at this point excluded for a number of reasons including their unwillingness to deal with the current state body.
We believe that our group has already proved its ability to promote and develop Taekwondo in this state and are looking forward to an opportunity to extend this role
Providing a new inclusive association with a fresh approach to developing Taekwondo is a very exciting goal and we encourage every one who is interested to join us.
